I try really hard, even in these days of constant struggle to find a way forward, to talk about the little things that I and others do that also makes a difference in the world. It is just one greenspace, just one greenbelt running for a few miles between two parks. But the steady persistence and perseverance of these Friends of Sunset Boulevard has, actually, made a difference. And as this small cadre of Boulevard activists begin to feel their own power, well, there is no limit to what they can do as they set their minds to it and join with others who want to do more as well. But that is all in the future. Right now, this little park/greenbelt corridor is coming back from the edge of the abyss and when I go out and walk on that corridor each day, it proves that the hope I feel is a good thing, maybe the best of things.
There are no small victories in the ongoing quests for doing good things, the right things. It is then that the foundation for incrementally achieving greater success is born. Experiences in what might appear as insignificant passions,have always led to my most memorable, meaningful and satisfying outcomes.
